LotPulse
Privacy Policy
How we handle personal information when you use LotPulse — including accounts, product usage, security, and subscription billing.
Last updated:
1. Introduction
LotPulse (“LotPulse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a software service that aggregates and analyzes publicly available vehicle auction information to help operators research listings and related signals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website, create an account, use our applications, or interact with subscription billing.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
2. Scope
This policy applies to personal information we process in connection with the LotPulse web application, APIs we make available to authenticated users, account and authentication flows, and subscription management handled through our payment provider. It does not govern third-party websites, Copart, IAAI, or other marketplaces that publish listings independently of LotPulse.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories, depending on how you use the Service:
- Account and profile data. Name, email address, password hash, and similar identifiers you provide when you register, sign in, or update your profile.
- Authentication and security. Session tokens, device or browser metadata needed to maintain secure sessions, password-reset tokens, and email-verification status.
- Usage and technical data. Log data such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, user agent, timestamps, pages or features accessed, and diagnostic information used to operate and improve the Service.
- Preferences and in-product settings. Saved feed filters, display preferences, and similar configuration you choose inside the product.
- Billing data (via Stripe). When you subscribe, Stripe processes payment card and billing details. We receive limited billing metadata from Stripe (for example subscription status, plan identifier, renewal dates, and customer references) as needed to provide access to paid features.
- Communications. Messages you send to us (for example support requests) and transactional emails we send regarding your account, security, or billing.
We do not require you to provide sensitive categories of personal information (such as government ID or health data) to use LotPulse. Please do not send us such information unless we explicitly request it for a specific purpose.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including ranking, scoring, and feed features you enable.
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the security of the Service.
- Process subscriptions, validate entitlements, and communicate about billing and plan changes.
- Send transactional and service-related messages (for example account verification and password resets).
- Analyze usage in aggregate to understand performance, reliability, and product usage trends.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information in the conventional sense of exchanging data for money. We do not use your email address to serve third-party advertising on behalf of unrelated advertisers.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect against cross-site request forgery where applicable, and measure basic product reliability. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may limit sign-in or session features.
6. Payment processing
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates. Stripe’s collection and use of payment information is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We do not store full payment card numbers on LotPulse servers. We retain subscription state and references needed to reconcile access to paid features with your account.
7. Service providers and subprocessors
We engage service providers to host infrastructure, send email, process payments, monitor application health, and perform similar functions. These providers process personal information only on our instructions and are contractually obligated to protect data and use it solely to deliver services to us. We may update our subprocessors as our infrastructure evolves; material changes will be reflected in this policy or an accompanying notice where appropriate.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Technical logs may be retained for a shorter rolling period unless needed for security investigations. When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention practices.
9. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and protect your account credentials.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as:
- Accessing or receiving a copy of certain information we hold about you.
- Correcting inaccurate account information.
- Requesting deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Objecting to or restricting certain processing, where applicable law provides.
- Opting out of marketing emails, where we send any promotional messages (transactional emails may still be sent).
To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@lotpulse.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
11. U.S. state privacy rights
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights regarding personal information, including the right to know categories of information collected, the right to delete personal information subject to exceptions, and the right to opt out of certain types of sharing where applicable. We describe our practices in this policy. To submit a request, email legal@lotpulse.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights granted by law.
12. International transfers
We operate primarily in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards when required by applicable law.
13. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, the Service, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example by email or an in-product message). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
